Macchiato surprise

Sometimes it’s the smallest the design features that make you smile the most. This is my morning macchiato from Mr Coffee (‘He’s so frothy!’) in Battersea.

I haven’t seen these little handles on espresso cups before but I love this and here’s why.

• It’s aesthetically pleasing – making the cup feel like a proper little espresso cup
• It’s practical – making it easier to hold particularly when its at its hottest (and best)
• It’s fun and playful – it made me laugh when I saw it. The sort of little cheeky flourish that belies its usefulness

Lovely, and a very fine coffee too.
